This Los Altos kitchen had a peninsula configuration that closed off the space to the windowed nook. With the installation of more efficient frameless cabinetry and built in appliances, sufficient storage and counter space was created. Beautiful cherry wood and natural stone work well with a handmade tile backsplash.

This corridor kitchen in Los Altos was updated to provide more professional cooking equipment for the owners. The original tile floor was saved and the new cabinets were arranged around it. Matching tile was special ordered to go into the backsplash, maintaining the floor pattern. The contemporary styling fit the owner's life style. A decorative glass collection was featured behind glass doors lit from within. The cabinetry is cherry wood in a burgundy dye finish. The granite counter tops anchor the toned color scheme.

The dividing wall between the kitchen and living room was partially removed to make each space appear larger. The result unifies both spaces in this Los Altos ranch home. The kitchen layout was completely changed to provide more storage space and function better for the owners. A skylight was added to bring in more natural light that was lacking due to the existing roof overhang. The cabinetry is natural alder wood in a simple frame and solid flat panel door. The pale quartz counter top keeps the space light and allowed us to curve the breakfast bar.

This major kitchen renovation was a collaboration with The Residential Designer (Jeanine Unterleitner) and Ted Semple Construction. The clients wanted an open space that integrated an island with elaborate detailing to conceal the new support columns. The cabinetry is solid cherry wood from Hallmark Cabinet in Salt Lake City. Columns conceal spice cabinets on each side of the cook top. Other features include pantries that were made to fit tight to a sloping ceiling on the exterior wall and a custom mantle.

A master bathroom in this Sunnyvale Eichler gets an update as well as some great functional improvements. The old double duty door was replaced with a pocket door and the interior wall to the shower room was opened up to provide a more spacious master bath. The closet was redone also, to maximize storage. Space in the garage was taken to add a large closet for the master bedroom (not shown). The tile is faux slate. Corian is used for the vanity. A thru wall exhaust fan was added to reduce humidity.

A new manufactured home in Sunnyvale emphasizes the open kitchen. We made this room the focus of the open plan by incorporating an inviting seating area in the large work island. The look is traditional yet easy to care for with a distressed finish on the alder cabinetry. The high ceilings allowed for the building of a custom hood to serve as the focal point. The appliances were carefully chosen to blend into the design and function well for the cook.

A master suite is created in the rear of this Los Altos residence. We took a little space from the large master bedroom to create a bath that functions as well as sizzles. A contemporary look was achieved with the careful selection of materials and fixtures.

A small rear addition allowed for this expanded kitchen in Sunnyvale. The owners selected a cherry wood cabinet with a glaze finish. Many design details were used to bring the space to life. Light quartz countertops, large windows, and layered lighting helped to keep the space as bright as the rest of the home.

An "orphan" family room in Saratoga is combined with a wonderful new kitchen resulting in a grand space for entertaining and cooking. The family room floor and ceiling (and flat roof) had to be raised 6" but the rooms now function as one. The glass tile backsplash provides a lively counterpoint to the formality of the stone and cherry wood cabinetry.

A small rear addition provided just enough space for this open plan kitchen in Palo Alto. A skylight keeps the space bright and a light tile counter top contrasts with the glazed alder cabinetry. The wine captain was a must!

A dated interior kitchen in this Mountain View townhouse was brightened up with new lighting and cheerful materials. The cabinetry is custom, select maple with a light finish. Counter tops are Quartz slab and are complemented with a light ceramic tile backsplash.

Two interior doors in this Palo Alto kitchen had to be eliminated to fix the layout. The new kitchen, opened to the dining room, is attractive and functional but does not compete with the rest of the home.
