Winter 2007/8:
The first photo was taken in Monterrey, the second in Carmel Valley.

SOME PHOTOS OF LAKE POWELL TRIP IN SEPTEMBER 2007:
Most of these shots are from the Escalante River area. The photos are in order: Lake Trees, Sky Canyon, Water Canyon, "hole in the wall", lake contrasts, lake sunrise .

An Italian Kitchen and Bath located in the center of Tuscany: This delightful kitchen was just remodeled in an eighteenth century farmhouse in a village called Marlia, just north of Lucca. I arrived just after this project was completed in October, 2004. This is a typical kitchen for the region. The design is "L" shaped with a table and chairs. Most meals are taken in the kitchen. The size may appear small but the materials are of the highest quality and the design is very efficient. A great deal of the food preparation can be done sitting at this table.

The master bath is in the same farmhouse. Note how the ceramic tile is applied with patterns and borders. The charm of the house is apparent in viewing the tiny, shuttered casement in the old thick walls.

The GETTY MUSEUM in LOS ANGELES: Get there early for easy parking. Admission is free. Architecture and landscaping is full of surprises, not to mention the fabulous collections inside.

The Dry Creek Valley is further than Napa, but worth the effort. The pace is slower and the crowds are nowhere to be found. Here is a shot of A.Rafanelli winery (great Zinfandel and Cabernet). Most wine tasting is by appointment only.

Near Sanchez and 16th street in San Francisco, a labor of love results in this mural, one of many in and around the bay area.

Carmel is full of Spanish colonial details to be discovered on a walking tour.
